Module 1
Listen along
The invisible backpack · 30 sec
Imagine everyone walks around wearing an invisible backpack. Some days yours is light. Some days it's full: schoolwork, friend stuff, something going on at home, thoughts that loop. Here's the science bit: a heavy backpack uses up actual brain capacity, the same capacity you need for concentrating and learning. So if anxiety's been making school harder, that's not laziness. That's load. Two things to take from this. First, your heavy days have a reason. Second, you can't see anyone else's backpack either. Which is why a small kindness sometimes lands way bigger than you'd expect.

Imagine everyone walks around wearing an invisible backpack. For some people it's light. For others it's heavy: worries about schoolwork or friendships, big feelings about something at home, thoughts that go around and around, fear of making mistakes or being left out, or not feeling good enough compared to people online.

A teal backpack stuffed with books and a pencil case: the invisible backpack

This space isn't saved anywhere, it's just for getting it out.

This backpack is invisible. We can't see what other people are carrying. That's why kindness matters so much: a kind word can make someone's backpack lighter.
